Trip Hop is one of the genres between hip hop and electronica that influenced by psychedelic music. The trip hop is made up of bizarre sounds, numerous samplings, melody, heavy bass, slow beats, and grooves. It was started during mid-90s combining house music and hip hop scene. The reason why Trip Hop includes trip is that after listening to the song, it makes the listener as if they went through musical trip. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trip_hop) The song, “Furious Angels” is one of the hot singles from album Furious Angles in 2002 by artist Rob Dougan. The song starts with low bass tune that doesn’t change then Rob Dougan sings the song with his bluesy and raspy voice give the impression to listener that sounds will overwhelm come. The song slowly builds up and starts with fast bass beats followed by the chorus sings very high tone of voice that reminds of singer in “The great gig in the sky” by Pink Floyd in the famous album The Dark Side of the Moon. You could hear the string instruments sound which makes this song classy and it actually goes very well. What I really like about is that he uses orchestra in his song and piano melody. “Clubbed to Death” is another song from same album and it is instrumental. The song starts with ambitious orchestra intro followed by bass beats with many samplings. I like how transition of the song, how dramatically changes into piano tunes then goes back to heavy bass beats. The song itself is very epic and dynamic so I will guarantee you after the song you will feel like you went through some kind of journey.
